From the Booth Boss: I Want You to Thrive

Hey friends — I want to take a moment to talk about something I see at almost every market. You’ve worked hard, your booth looks great, but for some reason… the sales just aren’t coming the way you hoped. Meanwhile, it feels like everyone around you is selling nonstop.

First, take a breath — you’re not alone. Every vendor has had one of those shows. And it doesn’t mean your products aren’t amazing or that you’re doing something wrong. It just means this particular crowd might not be your crowd.

Here’s what I want you to remember most:

👉 I truly want every one of you to thrive.

That’s not just words — it’s why I host these markets, why I’m constantly trying to improve, and why I share advice like this. Your success matters to me.

If you ever have a show that feels slow, take it as a chance to learn, not lose. Ask yourself:

Are people stopping to look, or walking right by?

Does your booth clearly show what you sell?

Are you greeting folks and inviting them in?

Does this crowd fit your price point and style?

Sometimes, a few small changes — more light, better signage, a smile that says “come on in” — can change everything. And sometimes, it just means this event wasn’t your best fit. That’s okay too.

✨ Please don’t keep spending money on booths that don’t bring you joy or results. Try different styles of markets, test your display, and find your people.

I believe in what you’re creating, and I want you to succeed — not just at Made in Iowa, but wherever your business takes you.

Keep learning. Keep shining. And remember — even the slow shows help you grow.
