Bring Food, Win Prizes: Made in Iowa Partners with Together We Achieve for October 17–18 Food Drive
44 vendors donate door prizes to encourage food donations during the Made in Iowa Fall Market and Scarecrow Festival.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (October 8, 2026) — A few extra items from your pantry can help feed a local family and give you a chance to win prizes. Made in Iowa is partnering with Together We Achieve for a Food Drive Door Prize Giveaway during the Made in Iowa Fall Market and Scarecrow Festival, October 17–18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at Hawkeye Downs Expo Center.
Donate Food. Choose Your Prizes.
Visitors can drop off nonperishable food donations with the Together We Achieve team in the lobby. Each donated item earns one door-prize ticket, which shoppers can take to participating vendor booths and enter for the prizes they want to win.
With 44 vendors contributing prizes, visitors have plenty of choices. Tickets can be entered across multiple drawings, with no limit on the number of different prizes a visitor can try to win. The drawing schedule starts at 12:45pm both Saturday and Sunday (see schedule graphic below).
Help Stock Local Pantry Shelves
Accepted donations include canned vegetables, fruit, soup and meat; peanut butter; rice; pasta; cereal; oatmeal; and baby food or formula.
Donations support Together We Achieve, which helps meet local basic needs through its food pantry and resource center. A complete list of accepted items and participating door-prize vendors is available at ScarecrowFestival.org/
A Fall Weekend of Shopping and Community
The food drive joins a weekend featuring 150 vendor stalls offering handmade goods, baked treats, crafts and original art. Visitors can also discover dozens of scarecrows created by vendors and community members, displayed throughout the market and around the building.
